Propagandaminister bezeichnet das historisch unterschiedlich ausgeformte Amt eines Informationsministers für staatliche Propaganda.

Während der nationalsozialistischen Diktatur des „Dritten Reichs“ bekleidete Joseph Goebbels das Amt des Reichsministers für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda.

Auch heute noch wird für Informationsminister diktatorischer Systeme dieser Titel gebraucht. Beispiele dafür sind der ehemalige irakische Informationsminister Muhammad as-Sahhaf und der Informationsminister Pakistans. Auch in der Volksrepublik China gibt es ein „Propagandaministerium“ zur staatlichen Einflussnahme auf die öffentliche Meinung durch eine scharfe Zensur der ihm grundsätzlich unterstellten Medien sowie Unterdrückung oppositioneller oder auch nur dissidenter Stimmen durch Repressionsmaßnahmen.Siehe z. B.
